Dance Alert: October 2021 Dates to Save

FJK Dance: RESET on October 8 and October 9, 2021
FJK Dance announces its 2021 season RESET, performing two world premieres and FJK Dance repertoire on Thursday, October 7; Friday, October 8; and Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 7:30 p.m. at New York Live Arts, 219 West 19th Street, NYC. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased online at fjkdance.org/presale-2021-tickets/season2021.
Following 7 years of extraordinary creative output, Fadi Khoury (New York-based founder, artistic director, and the visionary engine behind the FJK Dance Company) has come through the pandemic with all his energies dedicated to a full reset—hence the title of the company’s newest production. Celebrating seven years of dance, RESET is a full evening program dedicated to all those lost during this pandemic.
Reset will be performed by FJK Dance Company’s 10 dancers representing eight different nationalities and FJK Dance’s global vision.
WHITE WAVE Dance: Three Free Performances on October 9, 25 and 30, 2021
WHITE WAVE Dance announces three free performances of their newest production, iyouuswe II (I-You-Us-We-Two), on October 9, 25, and 30, 2021, at Bethesda Fountain, DUMBO Archway, and the Home of WHITE WAVE Dance, respectively, at 5 p.m. EST as part of the City Artist Corps Grant Initiative. iyouuswe II is a multi-year collaboration with pioneering choreographer Young Soon Kim and composer Marco Cappelli, in collaboration with their performers, as they continue to explore the body’s three dimensions in space. Probing the weight of human emotions, the work presents a vividly colored vision where movement and mise-en-scène meld seamlessly.
During this critical time of the COVID-19 pandemic, this piece challenges us to examine who we are and how we relate to ourselves and to each other. It is a story of developing relationships by which we struggle to find a sense of ‘i’ as part of a ‘we.’
